Jeffrey Garrett |
Sergeant Garrett was a member of the Dothan Police Department. He had over 20 years of service.
Jeff had participated in a two mile training run with other officers. Just after 8:00 a.m., he and the other officers were talking when he suddenly collapsed. The officers performed CPR until an ambulance arrived. Jeff was transported to the local hospital where sadly he passed away.
Jeff graduated from Headland High School in 1985. He had four years of service with the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was working for the Police Department as a training supervisor.
Jeff was a fan of football and loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He was also a baseball umpire. He liked to cook for family and friends. He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Headland.

Jeff's loved ones are devastated over his sudden death. He will be forever mourned.
Jeff is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his mother, Tonya; brothers Charlie, Jesse and Charles, sister Toni; his wife Michelle; his son Jacob; his daughters, Victoria and Rachel; and his step-children, Kaleb and Claire. He was predeceased by his father Charles and his sister, Vicki Rose.

Pray for all who die suddenly. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.
Pray that Jeffrey is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
