Cindy Whisman - killed by a pit bull dog in Ohio

Cindy Whisman
Cindy Whisman, age 59, died on August 4, 2014, in Madison Township, Butler County, Ohio.

Around 1:00 p.m., Cindy was attacked by a pit bull dog in the backyard of her home.

Cindy suffered multiple injuries to her face, neck and body. She died at the scene of the attack. Her two year old grandson was in the backyard with her.

Her husband was at home at the time but he has health issues and rarely leaves the house.

The dog was transported to the local Humane Society. An investigation by the Butler County Sheriff's Office is being undertaken.

The dog is owned by Julie Whisman, the daughter of Cindy Whisman, who had moved
A pit bull - not in a good mood
with her two year old son and the dog to her parents house about two months ago.

It has been reported that Cindy had been familiar with this dog for years and it had never shown any aggression before. That's the trouble with pit bulls. They lick your face one minute and rip out your throat the next.

There seems to be some indecision as to whether or not this dog should be put down. Why? The dog has proven itself to be malicious and has killed a human being. What other information does Butler County need to make a determination about this dog's fate?
Pray for Cindy

Who's on this dog's menu next - the son? the neighbors? a passerby?

Firstly, this dog should be put down without question. Secondly, Butler County should ban pit bulls and related dog breeds from this jurisdiction outright.

Pit bulls are vicious and unpredictable dogs. They were bred 200 years ago for bull baiting, bear baiting and dog fighting. They were never intended to be family pets. They should never be around infants or young children under any circumstances. They have repeatedly proven that they can kill people both young and old. Many towns and cities, counties and states do not allow pit bulls and related breeds within their jurisdictions.

Death by dog is not acceptable in a civilized country.

Cindy Whisman is described as a sweet woman who loved music. She will be forever mourned.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray that Cindy is in heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
