She lives with her family in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Mary Neal and her son, Willie Neal |
In 1999, in the Los Rios region of southern Chile, Mary was with friends and family members on a kayaking expedition. While cascading down a waterfall, her kayak became pinned at the bottom and she was immediately and completely submerged. Despite the rescue efforts of her companions, Mary was underwater for too long, and as a result, technically died.
Her companions immediately started rigorous CPR. They were determined not to lose her.
Mary felt herself drifting above her body and could look down and see the people below trying to revive her.
She then found herself in what she believes was Heaven. It was a beautiful place, full of intense color. She felt like she was home.
Two Angels came to her and welcomed her. She felt that she had known them forever.

Angels of God, pray for us |
And then the Angels told her something disturbing and tragic. They said that her eldest son, Willie, would die prematurely.
Mary Beal woke up, sputtering water and gasping for air, but alive. Her companions and loved ones thanked God for her survival.
Mary told others about her visit to Heaven but didn't tell anyone about the prediction of her son's death.
Then one night, years later, on a family trip, she told told him about this prediction, while weeping.
Tragically, Willie Neal, age 19, died on June 21, 2009, when he was hit by a car while roller-skiiing in Maine. He died at the scene of the accident.
Willie is described as a spectacular young man, who was seriously into the preservation of the environment. He cared about our Planet and what was happening to it.
Willie is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother and father, Mary and William Neal; and his brother, Eliot Neal.
Pray that Willie is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
Mary has written a book about her experiences entitled "To Heaven and Back".
Mary stated that the impact of her son's death was horrendous but that she knew that he had gone to a place of peace and beauty and that Willie's loved ones would one day connect in some way with him again.
God grant us Heaven. Amen.
