Olivia Rotondo and Jeffrey Russ - victims of the drug Ecstasy - New York State

Olivia Rotondo

Olivia Rotondo, of North Providence, Rhode Island, age 20, and Jeffrey Russ, of Rochester, New York, age 23, died on August 31 and September 1, 2013, at hospitals in New York City.

Olivia and Jeff did not know each other.

They were attending the Electric Zoo music festival on Randall's Island in New York. 100,000 Ravers attended the party over the weekend.

Tragically, both Olivia and Jeff died of an overdose of the drug Ecstasy. This drug is also commonly known as "Molly".

When it was revealed to the public that these two tragic deaths had occurred, the final

day of the festival was shut down.

Olivia was a 2011 graduate of Mount Saint Charles Academy in Rhode Island.  She was entering her Junior year at the University of New Hampshire.

Family members describe Olivia as a great kid who will be forever mourned.

Friends describe her as a lovely girl, inside and out.

Friends of Jeff Russ describe him as a man who lit up a room when he entered. He will be forever mourned.

Ecstasy is rising in popularity but it can come in bad batches.

Be aware - If you are a parent, tell your kids not to do this drug. If you are an adult - don't do this drug period.  It can be a poison.

The families of Olivia and Jeff are in shock over their untimely deaths. Oceans of tears are being shed for Olivia and for Jeff.
