Boko Haram, Nigerian Islamic Militants |
The students attended Yobe State College of Agriculture in Gujba, Nigeria. The college is about 25 miles north of Damaturu Town.
The students were asleep in their dormitories when the attack occurred.
As of this date, 42 bodies have been recovered. Approximately 1,000 students were able to flee the college running into the bush in the middle of the night. Most of the students are between 18 and 22 years of age.
The attack came from Boko Haram, an Islamic Extremist terrorist group who attack schools in Nigeria because they do not approve of "Western" education. They want Nigeria to be an Islamic Republic, with Sharia Law and Islamic education only. And when they say "only", they mean only. They'll kill you to ensure that you don't get any "western" education period.
The bodies of Nigerian students killed by Boko Haram |
One wonders what could possibly be the difference between western agricultural education and Islamic agricultural education. Agriculture is farming, world-wide. Do oats grow differently in an Islamic Republic? Does cow shit smell different in Nigeria than it does in Idaho?
On July 6, 2013, Boko Haram killed 29 pupils and a teacher at another school, burning some alive in their rooms, at Mamudo, outside Damaturu.
Beside attacking schools, Boko Haram is also known for attacking Christians and bombing churches.
Beside attacking schools, Boko Haram is also known for attacking Christians and bombing churches.
Since its founding in 2001, the group has killed approximately 4,000 people, most of whom have been innocent citizens and not their opponents in the Nigerian Government nor the Nigerian military.
In recent weeks, Boko Haram has intensified attacks on civilians in retaliation for a military offensive against their insurgency.
God save the innocents from the terrorists and the religious extremists. They murder kids in their beds and say that God likes it.
God help us. God save us from the mental cases and the freaks. They are killing us, Father. Amen.
