Horsley was the manager of a Family Dollar Store on 40th Street in Tampa.
On Sunday morning, July 14, 2013, a man entered the store to rob it. Horsley came to the aid of his 20 year old male clerk and was gunned down by the robber who fled the scene.
He was a retired Air Force veteran.
He was known as Junior or JR to his friends and family.
Friends describe him as a hard-working man and a helpful man who took care of his mother and who was helpful to senior citizens in his neighborhood.
The male clerk stated: "He came out of the office to save me, that was his last action, he was a hero."
Family members describe him as a good man and a friendly man. They are devastated with grief over his death. He will be forever missed.
Anyone with information about the suspect who killed JR is urged to call Crime
Jesus, pray for JR and all who come to the aid of others. |
