He was assigned to the 68th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 43rd Sustainment Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado.
He was known as Billy to his family and friends.
William graduated from Burleson High School in 2002. He joined the Army in 2004.
He had previously served tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan as a Marine.
Family members stated that he wanted to be a part of the military since a young age. They describe him as an all around good man who loved his wife and children very much.
Friends describe him as a nice guy, caring and family oriented.
His awards include the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal,
Combat Action Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Medal, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, the Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, the Global War on Terror Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, and the Driver’s Badge for Wheeled Vehicles.
William is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother; his father and stepmother; his siblings and his wife and three children.

Pray without ceasing unto God for an end to this war in Afghanistan. It is enough. We are sick with grief for men like William.
