Patrick Wisniewski - National Guard and Law Enforcement - Michigan

Reserve Police Officer Patrick Wisniewski, age 33, died on June 2, 2013, on a road in Chesterfield Township, Michigan.

Patrick was a reserve member of the New Baltimore Police Department, Michigan. He had two years of service with the Department as a Reserve Officer.

He was on his motorcycle at about 9:30 p.m. He was not on duty. A vehicle turned left in front of him at an intersection and they collided. Patrick was wearing a helmet.

Patrick was taken to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries and passed away.

The driver of the other vehicle, age 64, lived. He was driving on a suspended license. Criminal charges are anticipated in this ongoing investigation. It's unknown at this

time whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

Patrick was a military veteran who served 15 years with the United States Air Force Active Guard Reserve 127th Security Forces Squadron at the Selfridge Air National Guard Base, where he was a staff sergeant. He had been deployed three times including a time in Iraq.

He had just left the base after completing his normal shift as a Security Forces Airman before the accident.

Military officials said that they are greatly grieving the tragic death of Patrick.

Patrick is survived by many loving friends, comrades and relatives including his wife Jennifer and five children.
