He was assigned to the 1084th Transportation Company, 165th Combat Support Sustainment Battalion, 139th Regional Support Group, Reserve, Louisiana.
Chris graduated from Independence High School in 2011, where he played football.
He joined the Louisiana Army National Guard in September of 2011 as a truck driver and completed basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. While deployed, he served as a gunner on a Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle.
High School officials stated that Chris had a good nature and a desire to excel and to succeed. He was a hard worker at being both an athlete and a student.

He had a happy demeanor and lifted the spirits of others. He was a popular young man.

Chris is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother; his fiancée and a 3-year-old son.
