He was driving his motorized scooter on a street in Los Banos around 7:30 p.m., when he was struck by a pick-up truck and dragged about 200 feet. The driver of the truck sped away.

Fernando graduated from Los Banos High School in 2012. Soon after, he joined the Army National Guard with hopes of one day becoming a full-time soldier.
Family members describe him as quiet, shy and inquisitive. He was just starting out in life.

Fernando's family is deeply grieving.
Fernando is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his father, Fernando Buenrostro Sr.
