She had been struck by a vehicle in a hit and run incident on March 4.
She and a friend were walking on a city street at about 5 p.m. A car came from behind, jumped the curb and slammed into Anna, knocking her shoes off and sending debris flying 30 to 40 yards. Her friend, Karla, was not hit.
Both women were roommates at a nearby domestic violence shelter, out for a walk and some shopping.
“She was really excited and she was so happy,” said Karla.
The car sped off. Since then the owner of the car has come forward. It is unsure at this time if the owner of the car was the driver at the time of the incident.

Friends said that Anna was trying to turn her life around and was trying to move forward.
Anna is survived by many loving friends and relatives.
Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and gone the next. Amen.
Pray for justice for Anna.
Let us pray that Anna Blaze is in heaven. Let us pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
