Wong Shuk Yee - Calgary woman struck by two hit and run drivers

Wong Shuk Lee, age 56, died on February 20, 2012, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

She was on her way to work at about 6:55 a.m. when she was struck by two vehicles as she walked in a marked crossing at an intersection in Northwest Calgary.

Steven Jonathan Vanasse, age 24, has been charged with hit and run causing death. He contacted the Police about an hour after the incident and has been cooperating with Police. He had been on his way to work as well.

Police are still looking for the second vehicle that hit the pedestrian and also drove away. It is a dark sedan that would likely have damage to its lower front bumper.

It was also reported in the media that two other drivers, drove around her body as she lay on the road.

If you have information about this crime, please contact the Calgary Police.

It has not been determined how and why this horrible accident took place, however it is a criminal act to strike a pedestrian or any vehicle with your vehicle and then leave the scene of the accident.

It makes you wonder if the drivers who "drove around" a woman lying in the road, would have also stopped to offer aid if it had been their mother, their wife or their sister or daughter.

God help us. Everyone is speeding to the grave.

Light a candle for Wong Shuk Yee.
Light her way to Heaven.
The English name of Wong Shuk Yee was "Rachel". She worked at the Wing Kei Care Centre, a nursing home.

Co-workers there describe her as a wonderful woman who will be greatly missed. They describe her as dedicated to serving the seniors in her care.

Wong Shuk Yee is survived by many loving friends and relatives.

Let us pray that Wong Shuk Yee is in heaven. Let us pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
