Richard Walker

British soldier, Sapper Richard Reginald Walker, of Leeds, age 23, died on January 7, 2012, in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand province, Afghanistan.

A soldier in the Afghan National Army turned his weapon on Richard and other military engineers.

Richard was a member of 28 Engineer Regiment attached to 21 Engineer Regiment.

Military officials describe Richard as the epitome of a True Sapper, who rolled up his sleeves, got to work and did the tasks with humor.

Father, place Richard on the
road to Heaven
Family members describe Richard as a proud, patriotic man who died doing a job he loved, supporting his friends.

Comrades describe him as professional, capable, well-liked, polite and cheerful.

Richard is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Kathryn Walker and his daughter, Lilly-Faith.

Pray for those who die young and violently in a foreign land.

Thank you for serving, Richard.

Let us pray that Richard Reginald Walker is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
