Nicholas Reid

Staff Sgt. Nicholas J. Reid, age 26, of Rochester, New York, died on December 13, 2012, in Landstuhl, Germany from wounds suffered on December 9, 2012, in Sperwan Village, Afghanistan, when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to the 53rd Ordnance Company (EOD), 3rd Ordnance Battalion (EOD), Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

Nicholas graduated from Brockport High School in 2004. He enlisted in the Army in 2006.

This was his second deployment to Afghanistan.

Friends describe him as a cool kid who was quiet.

Nicholas is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, Kenneth and Dorothy Reid. 

Pray for all who are mortally injured in combat and who linger and suffer. Amen.
