Michael Guillory

Sgt. Michael J. Guillory, age 28, of Pearl River, Louisiana, died on December 14, 2012, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. 

He was killed when the vehicle he was patrolling in, flipped over. 

He was assigned to 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion, Camp Pendleton, California.

Michael graduated from Pearl River High School in 2002.  He enlisted shortly after graduating. He had served 6 tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. 

Family members stated that he loved being a Marine. He spent much of his free time volunteering at schools and the Boys and Girls Clubs.

Family members also stated that he was full of energy and put a smile on the faces of others.  Michael is a hero to his family.  He will be forever missed. 

Michael is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Gina Guillory and his sister who is also a Marine.
