Grant Wise

Pfc. Grant Wise, age 25, of Fairport, New York, died on December 25, 2012, in a barracks at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, in Alaska.

He was an infantryman with the 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne). 

He was found deceased of a single gunshot wound in another soldier's barracks room. Grant's death is under investigation.

Grant was a 2006 graduate of Fairport High School and attended Michigan State University from 2006 to 2008 and Monroe Community College from 2008 to 2010.

Grant joined the Army in October of 2011, attended basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia, and served at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, before being assigned to Alaska in September of 2012. He had previously served a tour of duty in Afghanistan.

Grant is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents Philip and Ruth Wise; and his brothers - Justin and Drew.
