Daniel Carlson

Spc. Daniel L. Carlson, age 21, of Running Springs, California, died on November 9, 2012, in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of non-combat related causes.

Daniel was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment, 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii. 

Daniel joined the Army on February 4, 2010 and attended Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He joined the 25th Combat Aviation Brigade in September of 2010. This was his first deployment.

Daniel repaired helicopters.

Daniel's awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, and an Aviator Badge.

Daniel is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents and his wife.

Pray for the 21 year olds who die in war zones, far from home. Yesterday, they were just boys. 

Let us pray that Daniel Carlson is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
