Brandon was assigned to 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.
Brandon Buttry had enlisted in the Army after his 19th birthday in January, and was sent to Fort Benning, Georgia for boot camp. He was deployed in August and had recently earned his combat infantry badges.

Family and friends describe Brandon as a happy and well liked teenager. He liked the Philadelphia Eagles. He went to his Baptist church regularly.
Friends stated that Brandon loved his country and loved the fact that he could serve his country.
Brandon is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents Don and Pam Buttry and 13 biological and adopted brothers and sisters.

Pray for the 19 year olds who die in war. Yesterday they were just boys.
