My life is devoted to games and I want more and more money to do it. |
If an agreement isn't reached soon, hockey fans will be deprived of attending their hockey games in person or watching these games on TV.
The players will swan off to another jurisdiction - like Russia and play for them for a few roubles, just for something to do. Or lounge around in the South for 6 months.

The NHL owners and commissioners will head south to their condos in Florida and Arizona.
Games and circuses have nothing to do with real life. It is all an illusion. |
Hockey is a game only. It is not necessary for the functioning of the world. It is a minor diversion in the great scheme of things. It is what the Romans called "bread and circuses" without the bread.
The salaries of hockey players are astronomical. Shitty players in the NHL make $600,000. per year. The good ones make $7,000,000 or $8,000,000 per year.
And yet they are willing to give this up for one hockey season, because they want more money? Do these dudes really have a grasp on real life in this world?
This looks like work. Hockey does not look like work. |
Do these dudes realize that they are playing a game which does not amount to much. This is "play time" shit. It is not real work. It is not what real people do to survive.
Hockey is not work which makes a difference in the world. Playing games does not feed people, does not cure people of disease, does not ease suffering. It is all smoke and mirrors and shits and giggles.
And the players know it too, but yet they still persist on their quest for more money.
God save us from greed in this world. It is totally unethical. Amen.
Jesus, Mary and all saints and all angels pray that we are saved from greed. It is destroying our sense of ethics and justice. Amen.
