The children's mother, Marina Krim, took her 3-year-old daughter, Nessie, home from a swim lesson to find her other children, ages 2 and 6, dying of knife wounds in the bathtub of their Upper West Side apartment near Central Park.

The nanny, Yoselyn Ortega, age 50, then turned the blade on herself. She is in hospital in serious condition.
Neighbors and relatives stated that Yoselyn Ortega hadn't been herself lately. She had been losing weight and told people she'd recently sought psychiatric help.
It has been reported by the Krim family in a family ongoing blog that the relationship between them and Yoselyn was good. The Krim had family had travelled with Yoselyn to her native country, the Dominican Republic, to visit Yoselyn's family and had a good time. Yoselyn had worked for the Krim's for 2 years.

Lucia Krim and Leo Krim are survived by many loved ones, including their parents Marina and Kevin Krim.
God help us. Jesus, Mary and all saints and all angels pray for the protection of the children, if nothing else. Amen.

My heart aches for you sweet angels that your little hearts have seen and suffered such horrible evil from someone you surely trusted and even loved, some who held your hand. I pray that God has you in his arms, wrapped in his love and mercy. May He protect, comfort, and keep your sweet sister Nessie, your mommy, and daddy and help them through such a terrible loss. I am so, so sorry little ones. You are in my thoughts and prayers every time I hold my little ones in my arms and my heart breaks for you and your sister, mom and dad.
