Jonathan Molina - Law Enforcement - Texas

Police Officer Jonathan Molina, age 29, died on October 5, 2012, in El Paso, Texas.

Jonathan was a member of the El Paso Police Department. He had 4 years of service. 

Jonathan died of injuries he received on September 25, 2012. He was off duty when he observed three juvenile males vandalizing his car. He confronted the three and identified himself as a police officer. As he spoke to them one of the juveniles punched him, knocking him to the ground. The teen continued to beat him even after knocking him unconscious. Jonathan suffered a fractured skull, internal head injuries, and facial fractures.

All three juveniles fled the scene but were apprehended. The subject who beat him was originally charged with assaulting a public servant but was later charged with capital murder of a peace officer following Officer Molina's death.

Jonathan was a 2001 graduate of El Paso High School where he played football. Jonathan was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He graduated near the top of his class at the police academy.

Police Department officials stated that Jonathan Molina will be greatly missed. He is also described as dedicated to his community. 

Jonathan was not married and has no children, but he is survived by many loving friends and relatives.

Pray for all who die as a result of crime. God save us from the Lost Ones who stalk the Earth stealing away life. Amen.
