Brittany Gordon

Spc. Brittany B. Gordon, age 24, of St. Petersburg, Florida, died on October 13, 2012, in Kandahar, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked her unit with an improvised explosive device. 

She was assigned to the 572 Military Intelligence Company, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. 

Family members stated that Brittany had a great smile and had ambition. She wanted to help others and to serve her country.

Brittany graduated from St. Petersburg High School in 2006 and attended the University of Florida for one year before she decided to pursue a career in the military. Friends say Brittany played in the band at St. Pete High, and was a talented musician and basketball player. 

Brittany is survived by many loving friends and family members including her parents, Cedric and Brenda Gordon. 

Thank you for serving, Brittany. 

Pray for all who die young. They barely had a chance at life. God help us. Amen.
