These officers were members of the Greater Manchester Police Department.

It is reported that these female officers were lured to an ambush where they were fatally injured in a gun and grenade attack. They were responding to a routine robbery call out, when the officers came under fire from bullets and a grenade. The call was thought to have been made either by Dale Cregan, age 29, or someone acting on his behalf.
Police Officials stated that: "It would appear Cregan has deliberately done this in an act of cold-blooded murder."
Police officials said that they are in mourning over the senseless death of these women.

The suspect, Dale Cregan, turned himself into police and will be charged with the murders of Fiona Bone, Nicola Hughes. He will also be charged with the murders of David Short and Mark Short, who were killed earlier this year.

Nicola Hughes had served three years in the force. She is described as a bubbly person, who would do anything for anybody.
Fiona Bone had served five years in the force. She is described as gentle, calm and an excellent police officer.
Fiona Bone and Nicola Hughes are survived by many loving friends and relatives, who will forever miss them.
God save us from the Lost Ones who stalk the Earth, stealing away life.
