Dion Roberts

Gunners Mate 2nd Class Dion Rashun Roberts, age 23, of North Chicago, Illinois, died on September 22, 2012, as a result of a single vehicle accident in Jalalabad, Afghanistan.

He was assigned to an East Coast Naval Special Warfare Unit. 

Dion graduated from North Chicago High School in 2005. He enlisted in the Navy during his senior year after participating in the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps.

High school officials describe Dion as a team leader who was well-liked by his peers. He is also described as having a great character and being really friendly.

Friends describe him as charismatic, sarcastic and a jokester. 

Family stated that he lived life to the fullest and never took life for granted. They describe him as charming and outgoing. 

Dion is survived by many loving friends and relatives, including his parents, Jackie and Denise Roberts; and his sister, Jaleesa Roberts.

Let us pray that Dion Roberts is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
