Nikkii was a member of the Cook County Sheriff's Office - Department of Corrections. She had 10 years of service.
She was was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver while walking from the sheriff's office parking lot to the maximum security wing of the county jail just before 11:00 pm. She was going into work for the start of her shift.
As she crossed the street she was struck by a van, causing her to be thrown into the path of an oncoming sheriff's office patrol car. She was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. A suspect has been apprehended.

Nikkii attended Collins High School and later graduated from college.
Family members describe Nikkii as a great person who was very important in their lives.
Her husband describes Nikkii as a loving person.
Family said that she loved swimming, biking, motorcycles and sports. She was looking forward to watching the Summer Olympics in the upcoming weeks.
Fellow officers describe her as smiling, popular and kind and state that they are heart-broken by her passing.
Even inmates at the corrections facility were shaken at the news of her death. She treated the inmates fairly and they in turn treated her with respect.
Nikkii is survived by many loving friends and relatives including sisters Andrell and Tamika Bostic and 4 other siblings; her husband, David Jones; and their 6 year old daughter, Nikkia.
Pray for all who die in the line of duty.
