He was a member of the 31st Battalion nof the Third Infantry Brigade.
He had been severely wounded in January of 2012 by the explosion of a motor shell in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

He was transferred to a U.S. military hospital in Germany. On March 3, 2012, he was transferred to Gori Military Hospital in Georgia.
During all of this time, he was in a coma as a result of brain injuries. Despite all of the medical care he received, he succumbed to his injuries 6 months after the explosion.
Givi is survived by many loving friends and relatives.
Pray for all who suffer and linger.
Let us pray that Givi Pantsulaia is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
