Gregg was a member of the 3rd Battalion, The Yorkshire Regiment.
He was shot and killed during a daring mission to rescue an Afghan policeman kidnapped by extremists.
Gregg had been in Afghanistan for less than a month.
Military officials describe Gregg as committed, caring, upbeat and selfless.

His wife stated that she will forever miss her soulmate who was a brilliant husband and a family man who always cheered everyone up.
Family members describe Gregg as their hero and their laughing boy, who was kind, funny, friendly and popular. They are proud of his service to his country.
Gregg is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Angela; his father, Robert; brothers, Kallum, Jamie and Graeme; and sisters, Rosie and Jennie; and his wife, Samantha, who is pregnant with their child.
Let us pray that Gregg Thomas Stone is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
