We don't want the Police...until the Shit hits the Fan

I was watching a TV news documentary yesterday, about a home invasion that occurred in St. Louis, Missouri, in 2009.

A female off-duty police officer (age 27) and her boyfriend, a firefighter (age 29) were leaving a family gathering at about 1:00 a.m. when they were confronted by a 16 year old boy and a 24 year old man who forced the couple back into the house at gunpoint, looking to perform a robbery.
Pray for Gina Stallis and for her
sons, who have lost their mother.

The home invaders terrorized the family - shot the fireman, shot the police officer, and killed Nurse Gina Stallis, age 34.

Two other women were present in the house and 2 young boys.  This entire family was terrorized by strangers.

The home invaders were subsequently sentenced to life imprisonment without parole.

As I was watching this TV program, I kept thinking....No one wants the police to be in their lives until all hell breaks loose and then we pray to God for their presence and their help.

Every day, the Police put their lives on the line.  They put themselves in the line of fire to maintain some sort of order in this world.  Without them, who would you call upon to help you?

Saint Michael, pray for the Police, that
they are there for us, and that they
are kept safe.
During this home invasion, one woman managed to escape and ran banging on doors on this street and no one would help, even though some of these neighbors were up and awake at that time of night. One woman came to the door but refused to let this obviously traumatized woman into her house to use the telephone to call the Police.

Evil exists in this world.  That two young men felt that they were entitled to steal another person's property and shoot or kill them in the process, is a sign that evil exists.

That people were so afraid to answer their doorbell to aid someone is also a sign of another sort of evil which is the evil of being dispassionate and uninvolved.

Ask God for mercy in this world.

Petition Saint Michael, the Archangel, who is a Prince in Heaven and the Patron Saint of the Police, for his prayers to God for the safety of our Officers.

Pray for Gina Stallis, that she is in heaven and that she is with God. Amen.

Pray for her children, who have lost their mother.  Amen.

Chief Michael P. Maloney, Greenland (NH)Police Department.

"We can move forward and yet still remember Mike Maloney," says the town's new chief, Tara Laurent, "and remember the heroism he showed that night and always."

Maloney was shot and killed on a drug raid April 12, 2012, just a few days before his scheduled retirement.
