William was a member of the Department of Corrections for North Carolina.
William died as the result of injuries sustained two days earlier when he fell from a metal staircase at the Mountain View Correctional Institution. He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for a head injury and released the following day.

The day after being released he suffered complications from the injury and died at his home.
Family members stated that William loved his family, his home, loved his fiancée, loved his nieces, enjoyed being around children and enjoyed life.
William is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, Archie and Erlene Wright; sister, Mary Ann; and his fiancée, Kelly Renee Peterson.
Pray for all who die in the line of duty.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that William Wright is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
