Michael Metcalf

Pfc. Michael J. Metcalf, age 22, Boynton Beach, Florida, died on April 22, 2012, in Paktia, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 504th Infantry, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Mike had attended Park Vista Community High School before leaving to enroll at the St. John Military Academy in Wisconsin. He enlisted in the U.S. Army about a year ago. He had only been in Afghanistan for a month.

Family members stated that Mike was honored to serve his country and leaves behind many friends and family all across the country.

Michael is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, Ceejay and Kim Metcalf. 

Pray for his mother, who has lost her only beloved son. 

Let us pray that Michael Metcalf is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
