Michele was a member of the First Regiment of Bersaglieri Cosenza.
He was born in Naples. He had enlisted in 1997, and since then had participated in six missions abroad: the first in Kosovo, then several times in Afghanistan and in Iraq.

Friends describe Michele as a good guy and a hero, who was always smiling and who was strong. It was stated that he always wanted to be in the military.
Family members said that their world has fallen apart.
Michele is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his father, Antonio Silvestri; his mother; a brother and a sister; and his wife, Nunzia and their 8 year old son.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Michele Silvestri is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
