Luke was a member of the Royal Marines. He was from Bournemouth.
He was shot and killed by an Afghan soldier at the main entrance to the Lashkar Gah Main Operating Base in Helmand province.

He joined the Marines in 1997. He had been in Afghanistan for only 4 weeks before his death.
Military officials describe him as a selfless, dedicated and talented Marine who approached everything he did with passion, a keen sense of humour and the desire to excel.
He is also described as generous, compassionate, popular and a devoted husband and father.
Luke is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife, Nicola; and his son, Roan.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Luke Taylor is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
