Luis was assigned to a chemical reconnaissance detachment in the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) and was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado. He was taking a training course in Florida, at the time of his death.
He was walking along a boardwalk behind a hotel and fell off the dock and into the water, where he drowned.

Luis was born in Peru and joined the Army in June of 2000. He served three tours in Iraq and one in Djibouti, Africa.
His decorations include the Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal.
Luis is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife, Jocelyn and two sons, D'Angelo and Davin.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Luis Serrano is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
