Whitney Houston and our greed for dirt

Whitney Houston, age 48, died on February 11, 2012, in Beverley Hills, California.

Whitney was a very talented and very popular pop and R & B Artist, who was particularly famous throughout the late 1980's and the 1990's. She was one of the world's best-selling music artists, having sold over 170 million albums, singles and videos worldwide. She wasn't a bum in the park.

She had a voice like an angel - crystal clear and powerful. She had a troubled marriage and had addiction problems. The cause of her death may have been due to a mixture of Valium, Xanax and alcohol.

The night before her death, she was at a Nightclub with friends. She got into an argument with another woman who she felt was hitting on her boyfriend. Whitney was drinking and partying.

Many images of Whitney Houston have been published by the News Media and on the internet showing her leaving this nightclub on the night before her death, looking "high" and dishevelled and argumentative. This is due to the Paparazzi, who live like parasites from taking photos of celebrities at their worst. The Paparazzi feed our greed for dirt.

Paparazzi - leeches who live off of the faces of Celebrities
Would you like to be photographed leaving a nightclub at 2:00 a.m., after you had been drinking all night? I wouldn't.

The price of fame is scrutiny. But somehow all of these photographs cheapen someone's life, as if "that photo" was the be-all and end-all of a person's life. Whitney Houston's life and contribution to music was much more than that.

Pray for all who are troubled by addiction.

Pray for Whitney Houston, that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
