Riley Gallinger-Long

Hospitalman Riley Gallinger-Long, age 19, of Cornelius, Oregon., died on August 11, 2011, while conducting a dismounted patrol in the Marjah district, Helmand province, Afghanistan.

Riley Gallinger-Long was assigned to 1st Battalion, 6th Marines, Regimental Combat Team 1, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Riley graduated from Forest Grove High School - Class of 2010.   He was married just five months ago to Hope Gallinger-Long.

Angels of God,
pray for Riley
His mother, Susan Blanchard, lives in Cornelius. His identical twin brother, Wyatt Gallinger, is also in the Navy and lives in Chicago. He has another brother, Zack Gallinger-Long.

Family members stated that he died doing what he loved and that he wanted to help people.

Pray for all 19 year olds who die in the line of duty. They are only teenagers after all.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Riley Gallinger-Long is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
