John W. Faas

Special Warfare Operator Chief Petty Officer (SEAL) John W. Faas, age 31, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, was killed on August 6, 2011, in the Tangi Valley of Wardak Province, Afghanistan, when a U.S. helicopter crashed.

John Faas was a 1998 graduate of Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis and served in the military for 12 years as a chief special warfare operator with the Navy.

Family members describe John as a man of unquestionable integrity and courage, as were those he served with. They also stated that he loved his job, because he was serving his country. 

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that John W. Faas is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
