David Jennings Dawson III - Law Enforcement - North Carolina

Deputy Sheriff David Dawson, age 21, was killed on August 1, 2011, in a single-vehicle accident while responding to assist another officer.  His vehicle left the road striking a tree.

David was a member of the Greene County Sheriff's Office, North Carolina. 

Deputy Dawson had only served with Greene County Sheriff's Office since June 1, 2011.

Jesus, pray for David

Family members describe him as a happy, Christian man who lived life to the fullest. He is considered to be a humanitarian example for young men and women in his church, in his work and in the La Grange community.

He was a 2008 graduate of North Lenoir High School Dawson. Friends said that he gave 110 percent in everything he did. 

David Dawson completed his Basic Law Enforcement Training at Lenoir Community College in the spring and joined the Greene County Sheriff’s Office June 1, 2011.

David is survived by numerous family members and friends, including his father David Dawson Jr., his mother Brenda Dawson, his brother Robert Dawson and his grandmother Grace Dawson. 

Pray for all 21 year olds who die before their time. 

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that David Jennings Dawson III is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
