Stefan Jankowski

Canadian soldier, Stefan Jankowski, age 25, died on July 14, 2011, of a prescription drug overdose.

He was being treated for post traumatic stress disorder after returning from Afghanistan. Family members have stated that he didn't get the help he needed to cope with the disorder, which left him depressed and unable to cope.

He was from Windsor, Ontario.

His mother, Georgina Duguay, said that Stefan had always wanted to be a solider, even at the age of four. But when he returned from his last mission, he wanted nothing to do with the Military.

Light a candle for Stefan. Light
his way to Heaven.
This is sadly reminiscent of another blog I posted about Angelo Crapsey, a returned Union soldier, who killed himself in 1864 at the age of 21.

147 years have passed, and still soldiers with post-traumatic stress disorder are not given the help they need, other than to tranquilize them with medication, which is not the long-term answer to their problems.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Stefan Jankowski is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
