Firefighter Captain Jeffrey Bowen, age 37, was killed on July 28, 2011, in Asheville, North Carolina.He died fighting a fire at 445 Biltmore Center, in Asheville, North Carolina. It is a medical office building. He was checking to see if anyone was left in the building.
More than 50 firefighters responded to the fire. The part of the building containing the fire did not have sprinklers.

Jeffrey was a 13-year veteran of the department and assigned to Rescue Company 3.
Fire Department officials said that Jeffrey was one of the most dedicated firefighters in the department and that he came to work smiling. Jeffrey wanted to do the job he was hired to do which was to put out fires.
Jeffrey is survived by his wife, Stacey, and three children.
Pray for all who die in the line of duty.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Jeffrey Bowen is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
