His unit was attacked by unknown assailants using firearms and grenades while on patrol. Jaroslaw was killed by gunshot wounds. Jaroslaw Mackowiak served in the Army since 2006. He was part of the 17th Wielkopolska Mechanized Brigade in Międzyrzecz as commander of the team. This was his second tour of duty in Afghanistan.
Jaroslaw was unmarried.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Jaroslaw Mackowiak is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
