He was a philosopher, essayist, poet, and a novelist.
He said two things during his lifetime which are undeniable:
"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
"Only the dead have seen the end of war."
Plato didn't make this last statement, it was Jorge Santayana.
We still struggle with these statements of Jorge Santayana. We all hope that we can learn from them.
God help us all.
Pray for Jorge Santayana that he is with God, in heaven. Amen
