Sgt. Michael S. Lammerts, age 26, of Tonawanda, New York, died on April 4, 2011, of wounds suffered from small arms fire from insurgents in Faryab province, Afghanistan.

He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 84th Field Artillery Regiment, 170th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Baumholder, Germany.

He had been deployed for about 45 days. He had served 2 tours in Iraq. 

He leaves behind his wife and two young children, and his father, Robert. 

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Michael S. Lammerts is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
