Christian A. S. Garcia

Sgt. Christian A. S. Garcia, age 30, of Goodyear, Arizona, died on April 2, 2011, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his position with indirect fire in Babil, Iraq. 

He was assigned to the Maintenance Troop, Regimental Support Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas.

Christian Garcia joined the military in June 1999 as a quartermaster and chemical equipment repairer. 



He deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from December 2004 to December 2005, and from November 2007 to January 2009.


His awards and decorations include two Army Commendation Medals, four Army Achievement Medals, two Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal with campaign stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbons, NATO medal, and Driver and Mechanic Badge for Mechanics.


Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Christian A. S. Garcia is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
