First Lt. William J. Donnelly IV, age 27, of Picayune, Miss., died on November 25, 2010, while conducting combat operations in the southern Helmand province of Afghanistan. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division, out of Camp Pendleton.
William Donnelly accepted his commission into the Marine Corps June 16, 2008. This was his first combat deployment. His personal service awards include the Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, and Afghanistan Campaign Medal.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that William J. Donnelly IV is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
