Devon J. Harris

A 10th Mountain Division Solider stationed at Fort Polk,Louisiana, was killed in Wardak province, Afghanistan, Saturday November 27, 2010, from wounds sustained in a rocket propelled grenade attack.

Private Devon J. Harris, age 24, of Mesquite, Texas, was a combat engineer with the Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division. Private Harris joined the Army in August 2009. After training, he arrived at Fort Polk in December 2009 and deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in October 2010.

Private Harris's awards include: National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Army Service Ribbon.  Devon Harris is survived by his mother and father.
