Capt. Jason Holbrook, age 28, was killed in action August 5, 2010, in Afghanistan, by an improvised explosive device. He was a special forces team leader, and his unit was ambushed near the Pakistani border.
He was from Burnet, Texas.
Jason Holbrook had previously served with distinction in Iraq before deploying to Afghanistan. Among his many honors, he earned a Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Meritorious Service Medal.
