Sgt. Matthew W. Weikert of Jacksonville, age 29, was killed July 17, 2010, in the Paktika province of Aghanistan. His unit was attacked with an improvised explosive device.He was from west-central Illinois.
Mattew Weikert was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).
Military officials say a 29-year-old soldier from west-central Illinois has been killed in Afghanistan.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Matthew Weikert is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
