Sarah Beckett - Royal Canadian Mounted Police - British Columbia

Constable Sarah Beckett, age 32, died in the line of duty on April 5, 2016, on a street in Langford, British Columbia.

Constable Beckett was a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. She had 11 years of service. She had served in Port McNeil, Colwood and Langford.

At about 3:30 a.m., Sarah was on patrol when her vehicle was struck by a pickup truck near an intersection on a suburban street in Langford.

Paramedics tried desperately to revive Sarah. Tragically, she died at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck was taken into custody. The cause of the collision is under investigation.

It has not been determined as yet if drugs, alcohol or speeding were factors in the accident. The pickup truck driver is innocent of criminality unless proven guilty. However, an eyewitness stated that the pickup truck was speeding moments before the crash.

A funding site has been set up to help Sarah's family with expenses.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are in mourning over the death of their sister. Sarah was a popular officer with a large circle of caring friends. She was a dedicated officer and a hard worker. She was an asset to her comrades. She will be forever remembered.

Sarah's loved ones are devastated over her sudden and tragic death. She was a loving wife and mother. She was loved in return. She did her best. She will be forever mourned.

Sarah is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including her mother, her sister, her husband and her two young children.

Thank you for your service to the community, Sarah.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye. 

Pray for Sarah's children who have suffered an unspeakable loss.

Pray that Sarah is in Heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
