Chad Dermyer
Trooper Chad Dermyer, age 37, died in the line of duty on March 31, 2016, at a hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

Others officers returned fire and killed the suspect, James Brown III, age 34.  James Brown III was an ex-convict with a lengthy criminal record. He reportedly told his family members that he would never go to jail again; he would fight it out with the police.

Chad was rushed to a nearby hospital where, tragically, he died of his injuries.
