Thomas Clardy - State Trooper Fatality - Massachusetts

Trooper Thomas Clardy, age 44, of Hudson, Massachusetts, died in the line of duty on March 16, 2016, at a hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Trooper Clardy was a member of the Massachusetts State Police. He had 10 years of service.

During the morning of March 16th, Thomas was working an overtime shift and was performing traffic stops on a highway near Charlton, Massachusetts. He had pulled over one vehicle and was returning to his patrol car when another vehicle sped across three lanes of highway.

That vehicle plowed into Thomas fatally injuring him. Thomas was airlifted to a hospital where, tragically, he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the speeding vehicle has been charged with criminal negligence.

for those who have lost him.
Latter Day Saints. He had served in the Marines before becoming a state trooper.

The Massachusetts State Police are in mourning over the death of their brother. Thomas was a dedicated officer who loved his job. He was a brave man with leadership abilities. He was hardworking and helpful to others. He will be forever remembered.

Thomas' loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He was a devoted husband and father. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Thomas is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his wife and seven children.

Thank you for your service to your country and to Massachusetts, Thomas.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and are gone the next.

Pray that Thomas is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
